montana | my first rodeo under the big sky
Okay…not an ACTUAL rodeo…and not my first time in Montana
Never would I imagined myself going to a country concert let alone a country festival. Somehow I convinced a friend or honestly, I can’t remember if it was the other way around to go to a country festival in Whitefish, Montana. Luckily said friend lived in Bozeman and I had wanted to visit her again. Guys, Montana is a beautiful state and I can totally understand why people living there are pissed that Californians have been migrating there. Anyways, yes I was going to a two-day country festival. Albeit, the lineup was incredible…just to name a few (of my favorites): Midland, Morgan Wade, Zach Bryan, and Shakey Graves. I mean, Zach Bryan before he blows up into mainstream?! Aside from our poor housing arrangements, I had a blast with all the country folk and cowboys. Will there ever be another country festival that I’d be willing to go to? The lineup would have to be really, really good.
On the days we weren’t at the festival, we hung around Bozeman and we also stopped by Glacier National Park. Even in July there was still snow! Totally unprepared but willing, we attempted to climb part of the mountain to see a sunset view but unfortunately decided against hypothermia (we were wearing shorts and sandals) and headed or more like slid down the rest of the way.
If money or finding an appropriate job weren’t an issue, I always say I would move to Montana. Maybe one day…
